I Was Maltreated Coming Up - Sarkodie

Sarkodie claims in an interview with Hot 97, he was maltreated coming up as an artiste.

“I came up with a very very tough background, hard to say, but I was really maltreated when I was coming up so that was like, the only space I could be myself, the microphone. And I used that and finally I am here.”

The leader of the SarkNation started out as a battle rapper on Kasahare Level, a show on Adom FM where he ‘killed’ a lot of his contemporaries with his punchlines.

He has, consistently for some five years headlined a number of concerts, won awards across the world and topped music charts.
